When you first meet our doctors, you will get a full interview and assessment.
We will give you our best advice. The pros and cons of each option will be explained,so you can make the best choice for your individual needs.Sometimes that even means NOT starting on Methadone or Suboxone, and trying other strategies instead.

Too often,a desperate person will go to the first clinic that will offer an appointment. That is understandable.
But starting a day or two sooner doesn’t mean that you are getting the best treatment available. What good is starting earlier if it means that you are not maximising your chances for success down the road?

What is most important is making sure that the medication is being prescribed to you in a careful, safe manner. Methadone or Suboxone can be dangerous.
What good is getting started on too high a dose,or getting your dose raised too quickly, if it puts you in danger?
That’s where our excellent training and extensive experience are a real advantage.

If you break a leg, you will need crutches to allow your leg to heal.If you don’t ‘set’ the bones and get physiotherapy, the crutches alone won’t be enough .
The same goes for Methadone and Suboxone. They are wonderful, helpful tools.

But just like crutches, they are not enough. Most people who come to us also need additional therapy-dealing with serious problems:
psychological or emotional problems like depression or anxiety, family problems, social or work problems, educational problems, learning disabilities,ADD or ADHD, physical pain, sleeping problems including sleep apnea.

We are able and willing to help identify and treat these problems.Without this, you are just using the prescription ‘crutch’ but not getting the therapy you need. That means your chances of success will be much lower in the long run.
